Well no, it's not from the needle. See, a tattoo, while it's first healing, is basically just a big open wound. Scratching it, and introducing bacteria from your fingernails, can infect it real quick. And infections lead to sickness and patchy healing. My mom has patchy healing on her one tattoo from scratching it when it was healing, so she ingrained this into me ^^"

with the small Pox shot it makes a spot on your skin that itches like craky but your not suppose to because of similar reasons it also can cause larger scarring

It isn't really that bad... Unless you get one where your skin is the softest (ex: behind your knee, on your back, on your armpit, etc.)

I've talked the first time to my parents about it since more than a year, I've been thinking about it since much more time.
A tribal wolf and a moon, that must be a beautiful one! (I love moon, wolf, and tribal tattoos so I can only think it's a good choice). I can't see why it would make anyone turn their nose up :/ It's not as if you had made satanist or nazi symbols, and a demon killing people! But yes, that's because some people still associate tattoos with a lot of negative things. I personally find people who have prejudices and think tattooed people are weird, dangerous or at best stupid and disciminate them more stupid that most people having tattooes, but that's only my opinion...
But I agree with my parents on this, I've never planned to do a large one on a part of my body I can't hide if I need to for this reason. I don't think people would fire me if I'm good at a job and discover one day that I have a tattoo somewhere, but there are chances they would not give me the job at the beginning if it's the first thing they see.

I've never heard about tattoos itching that much, and now I think it almost worry more than the tattoo itself... I tolerate pain but I hate things that are ichy (as the genocides of mosquitoes I make every years can prove!). So thank you for preparing me mentally for that and for your advices against scratching!! (I'll probably have to cover it with something during the time it itches too much to resist the need of scratching it, since the wrist is a spot that is so easy to scratch...)

Aquari is true, it really sounds like a smallpox shot XD

I think it was just the fact of a tattoo, not what the tattoo was. But eh, you can't change someone's beliefs.

Anyways, as for itching, there's actually lots of stuff out there to help you with it you can specially buy(lotions and the likes), but also, just cool cloth, gently(after washing your hands of course) slapping/tapping the tattoo(I did that the most- I would ask my friends to slap my back pfft), and wearing gloves asleep(since that's when you're most likely to scratch it) can prevent anything from happening, but if you're uncomfortable with gloves, also just trimming your fingernails too!

Honestly, I didn't mean to make it sound /that/ bad. I've heard of few infections. It's more the fact that if you scratch it, you can mess it up. And while I love my tattoo, I would have hated to have it done again cause I made it all blotchy.
