Dyes aren't always going to be 100% accurate either, but generally when you generate/use dyes they come out to close enough to what you want that it doesn't really matter.
I pretty much only keep lesser dyes and even when the colours do fly way off, they can be fixed again.
Mystical essence pretty much are on the dot with the colours, maybe a couple of hex numbers off, but you really won't see much of a difference if at all :P

My design I had saved in generator.
How it came out.
That is a regular essence. Not much of a color swing. Even if I wanted to change body color, I could use one dye to pretty much 'fix' it.
Design I had for a project.
*it doesn't have all the traits, since I am breeding them, but not much of a color difference* Once again, regular essence.
Design in generator.
Generated sylesti.
There really isn't much change, and it would only take one or two dyes to get a design perfect. Plus, if you could make a perfect sylesti, there would be no need for breeding, trading, selling pets. It would OP the pet aspect of the game. It would be like generating a sylestia with perfect stats.
So you won't come out with random colors, they just might be a shade or two off.
