Nakisha ran through the woods trying not to hit her head against the tree branches. She scented another creature but knew the scent was old and far away.

Mika found her den, and entered it. She sorted out some prey and turned human again. On a little fire she cooked the prey and ate it.

She finally made it to the plains just outside the forest border. Nakisha went into her cave in the only hill in the area and laid down. There, she nibbled on field mice.
