I've heard this come up a couple of times. Crossbreeding would be a hard thing to create.
There are currently 21 species (+ one coming soon). 21x21=441 (thats not including the new species). That's approx. the amount of species there would be. (It would be less because of overlapping so it would probably be half that?)
Aeri x Aeri
Aeri x Aur
Aeri x Bulb
Aeri x Drae
Aeri x Fae
etc. etc. etc.
That list would get really long really fast^
Just there, there would be 5 new species from the list I typed out. 5 more line arts, 5 more sets of genes, 5 more sets of mutations, 5 more species.
^that's a lot of species as is. That also means creating new species concepts.
Overall its a lot of work, and not v necessary bc we have so many species as is.
