I've been trying for a while now to find any information on themed pets and have not gotten far for the information I am looking for. My question is, can you make a captured pet into a theme pet? Like, is a theme pet only restricted to just the colors or is it something else?

While it isn't a themed pet, can I breed it with another none theme pet in hopes of getting the colors the same to make it's offspring say, "Themed?"

There are technically 2 kinds of themed pets. There are Tagged themed pets, like this Zolnixi



On the left side of the page under genetics it says Great Pumpkin Zolnixi

This indicates that this is a tagged or themed pet.

There are also Purebred themed pets. like this Zolnixi (who is the offspring of the tagged, similar to your luffox)



Though he does not have the same Great Pumpkin Zolnixi tag as his mother, he is technically a themed pet judging by his Lineage. Most offspring pets are Purebred.

Now, What you're asking is basically: "Can I make a Great Pumpkn Zolnixi with a Tagged and a similar coloured one?

Technically you can do this, but the pet will not be regarded as a themed offspring. While some users are interested in crossbreeding, the combination of a Tagged/Purebred themed pet and a regular pet with similar colours, are essentially worthless unless they come out with beautiful traits or colours that someone values.

You cannot give a pet without a Theme a "Tag".

A themed pet is a pet that has a specific type of coloration. The only thing that varies is what traits they have since it's random with the tagged ones. The tagged ones are found various ways during events. Technically the one that you linked is a themed offspring. It will not have the tag nor any of its descendents. But it is a purebred Ruby Orchid Luffox. You can check it's parents that do have a tag. And in the lineage the parents have a star indicating that they're themed. If you breed it to another Ruby Orchid Luffox then it's offspring will also be purebred. If you breed it to something that isn't, then the offspring will not be purebred though the colors can sometimes end up very similar.

There's a few ways to acquire tagged theme pets during this festival. One way is wandering around the festival zone. You'll mostly encounter a bunch of non-themed and bandits. But occasionally you'll run into a themed pet. You can also find nests either in one location in the festival zone (shares the node spot with a golden egg and it's on a long timer) or sometimes in the egg maze which has a four hour timer. You can also sometimes find seed pouches, pots, and fertilizer as drops from bandits or loot from golden eggs/chests. These can be used together in your garden to make a themed pet. Seed pouches can also be acquired from the festival shop and as occasional loot from the contest pouches from participating in the leaderboards. I would read over the festival overview carefully for additional information. Then one other way is various other contests that Sylestia has. They can be prizes from doing well at Pick A Door for instance.

Finally, if nothing else, you can use the advanced search to look for tagged theme pets to buy. They can be found at all sorts of prices. You can use the advanced search to look specifically for tagged themed.

Themed pets with a certain name and species are always of that particular color theme (though there can be some natural color swing). Many of the festival themes, particularly those found in the zone, were designs submitted by fellow players when there was a design entry thread for the purpose leading up to the festival. Keep an eye out before the next festival and there's a good chance there'll be another opportunity to submit designs that could be used as a theme.
