So, during the Winter Fest when philter prices fell through the floor on the broker, I kinda sorta took advantage of the situation and bought as many philters as possible and decided I wanted to do a max stat project with Sylvorpas since they're my favorite species. And also since I have a metric buttload of Sunsong Gazanias from when I absolutely unloaded last spring, I decided to go with that theme. This thread exists so that those following along with the project can keep up with how much progress I have made (there are spreadsheets involved outside of the thread lol).

Endgame offspring will eventually be put up for sale for those looking to kick******with lizardfish flower power. All contributors (I have a spreadsheet for that, too) will receive a free offspring of their choice, and there will be many choices as I also intend for this to be a multi-vis project with many different combinations.

The scope of this project is massive because I want it to be and because I can. Since the gene pool is (deliberately) wide, I will be doing this using my own breeding methods, which I will explain.


The Game Plan:

I started with a large, diverse population of Sunsong Gazanias with the intention of breeding each generation of offspring with only other offspring of that generation in order to retain inter-generational philter gains. With Gen 1, I boosted +5 Dexterity and established the breeding population for the rest of the project. With Gen 2, I boosted +5 Agility by breeding Gen 1 within itself. With Gen 3, I bred Gen 2 offspring with other Gen 2 offspring to begin narrowing down certain trait combinations, and once those babies hatched, I boosted +5 Intelligence. Gen 4, I boosted +5 Strength. At the end of these four generations, I have boosted all philterable traits +5 up to somewhere around 30 points each using only Lesser Philters. Let's call this portion of the project Phase 1.

Edit: After some careful stat analysis, I've decided to repeat three generations of Phase 1 to boost three philterable traits another +5 and allow nurture clicks to also pick up some of the slack in health stats. Thanks to all of my nurturers! ^^

For Phase 2, I'll be using greater philters. Since greater philters are way cheaper than prisma philters, the next four generations will be bumped up using the same method as the first four. After all the generations of Phase 1 and Phase 2, we should be halfway there on the four non-health base stats, with each at least 50.

Depending on how far down I have the population narrowed and how many prisma philters I have, I may repeat Phase 2, do a generation of "help the egg hatch" health stat boosting, or start on Phase 3, which should be both the quickest and the most expensive because then I'll be using pies and prisma philters.

All of my Statsongs are kept in this stable, and my hatchery contains few pets that aren't Statsong offspring. Any and all nurture clicks are appreciated! <3

Some traits exist within the Statsong population, while others do not. Certain traits I am either deliberately selecting for or actively purging from the population with each generation, and based on that I can take an educated guess as what some of the final outcomes will look like.

Generational Stat Averages

To get a better idea of how exactly these philters are working and the direct impact of nurture clicks, I've compiled some statistics of the general Statsong population to share with those who are contributing, nurturing, or just plain curious about the process. As far as I'm aware, this is a wildly different model from what other users have done in the past.

The base stats for a Sunsong Gazania Sylvorpa without any nurturing or hatching intervention are 210, 22, 22, 22, 22. Most of the parent population had at least one stat increased through nurturing or hatching, and a few of the parents were offspring that I already had. Regardless, I'll be using the untouched stats as a baseline because going back and clicking through all of the lineages would take forever. Anyway, getting on with it:

Conclusion? Four generations of nurture clicks can raise one non-health stat the equivalent of one lesser philter if all other non-health stats are boosted. Based on this knowledge, I'll be adjusting my approach to the next four generations of Statsongs.

Gen 4 is about a week away from being old enough to breed, and trait combinations are looking good! Meanwhile, these four little mid-generation oddballs need some love clicks:


Also, I've been thinking it over, and looking at my philter stock, I don't have quite enough regular (+20) stat philters and prisma philters to start using them. This is only a minor setback, though. I still have several lesser philters, and I've been noticing a very pleasant rising phenomenon in the stat bumps through each generation. I'm running some averages right now, and I'll have those posted later to show what I mean.

Gen 5 is incubating! :D

In the interest of economics and based on the philters I have on hand, I'll be pumping them with another round of +5 Dexterity. This also gives me some flexibility to toss a few duds out, which is something I haven't been doing so far. I'll probably toss a coin for whether Agility or Intelligence gets bumped next.

Thank you for all the nurture clicks you've been giving! I know it gets tedious after a while and I'm breeding a lot of them, so just know that it's very much appreciated. <3
