Hi,

Is it better to equip a relic that lists both physical damage and magical damage instead of a relic that only lists one? For Example:

Relic One
Physical Damage: 98
Magical Damage: 98
Gold: 1962

Relic Two
Physical Damage: 135
Gold: 1599

I ask because, according the math (98+98=196), Relic One should be the better shield, since 196 points of damage is 61 points greater than 135 points of damage. Furthermore, the gold cost of the relics even seems to indicate that Relic One is the better armament, however, I have read that I should choose Relic Two because it only uses physical damage instead of both damage types.

So, all that being said, which one is better?

Your pet can only use one type of damage: physical if their strength is higher OR magical if their intelligence is higher. So, the amount of damage increase relic 1 gives your pet is not a combination of the two, it's only 98. So, for a physical damage dealing pet, relic 2 is the better relic.

That said, if these are the only two relics you have and your pet does magical damage, relic 1 is the better choice until you manage to get a better one. Relic 2 won't give a magical damage dealing pet any increase in their damage ability.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for responding. I admit that I am disappointed to hear that the damage amounts of Relic One doesn't stack and become better than the damage amount of Relic Two. Then again, with your explanation, it now makes sense why I read that Relic Two would be the better choice of the two relic types.

Thank you again.
