Hey there, so I'm still kinda new and I just captured another pet. I want to add it to my party of two but the button I try to use is grey, how can I add this third pet to my party?

You unlock the 2nd party slot when you go to the plaza in Esior's Haven in the 1st region.
The 3rd party slot is unlocked when you have access to the Sanctuary of Saerielle in the 2nd region. So you'll just have to continue playing the storyline until you reach there.

It does cost gold to get them, keep in mind. I don't recall how much it cost to unlock the second party slot but the 3rd is 25k.
