Hey, all! Thanks for taking the time to investigate this little forum thread. I've had a vague story idea for a while, but I didn't really have many ideas for it. So I figured posting it here might be a good way to flesh out the plot a little bit.

Here's how it's going to work. I will post the first piece of the story in the post immediately after this one. After the end of the first section, I will offer two or more different choices for what will happen next in the story. Any readers I may get for this can post a reply to "vote" for the choice they like, and then I will post the next part of the story based on the readers' replies.

If you would like to be pinged each time I update this story, leave a reply below and I will ping you whenever the newest section comes out.

Here's some background for the story.

Your name is Cat Lambourne. (Please don't worry about the gender for this character. Originally, I actually intended for this character to be a male. Combining this intent with a somewhat feminine first name, I will do my best to write this story so that Cat's gender will never conflict with the readers'.)
You are the ruler of an ancient kingdom called Ivory. Ivory has been in existence for all of recorded history, and there has never been a conflict between the people and the ruler... until now. After your father, the previous king, was mysteriously murdered well within the castle walls, the people began to suspect you of trying to seize the throne. You are the only child your parents ever had, and so you are the only possible heir. Because of this, the people have accepted you somewhat, but there is still a lot of controversy over the legitimacy of your reign.

If you're not sure whether or not you're interested in this story based on this somewhat vague background description, all I ask is that you read the first section when it comes out. After that, if you're still not interested, that's perfectly fine; I'd just like for people to give it a chance. Also, feel free to post a reply explaining why you didn't like it; I don't mind a little constructive criticism. :)
