I do not know how to do the diamonds. I do know how to do direct sell with the gold however.

OK, let me talk you through it - sadly, it has to be you who does it for it to work.
Go to the currency exchange, change the sell currency to gold, and change the amount in the diamond box to 500. Click create offer. The pop-up will say sell 1g for 500 diamonds (make sure that its not the other way round!) Confirm it by clicking create. Let me know when it is done. Then I go to the currency exchange and buy your 1 gold coin for 500 diamonds.
Then set up the pet for 1 million gold for me buy as usual.
