I entered a battle in the Fungus Grove in Viridian Meadow against a Nightfall Bandit, but my Sylesti just suddenly died! :( The log said that the bandit did only 7 damage, but my Sylesti dropped straight from 919 to 0 health and I am now told that it is not my active pet, even though it is still displayed as being active. What could have happened?

Is it possible it wasn't fed? If a pet is malnourished, it faints.

I've noticed some possible occurrences of this as well this past week... but haven't been able to pin point anything or reproduce it.
So please let me know if anyone has anymore information to offer regarding this.

No, it's hunger was at 70%. Oh well. Guess I can kiss that revival draught goodbye. :(
EDIT - Kk, if it happens again I'll post about it. Do you think it could be lag-related? The window temporarily froze, and I've seen JS scripts mess up timing and order of execution due to things like that.

With how the original exploration system works, yes sorta. If the page doesn't finish loading or bugs while loading, it can kill off your pets under certain circumstances.
But I'm not sure if that's the issue here.

Hmmm... With permission I'll look through the source code and see if I can spot something that might bug out some of the variables and/or try to lag out the window with my ultra-infinite-js-script-of-doom(TM) running in the next window over. provided I can find said vriables, of course :P

I can't tell someone not to look through the source code. =P But I don't think you'll find anything there.
This would be a server-side issue.

I believe that I figured out the source of this issue and applied a fix.
