So I was chatting with KaliOfDarknesss and came up with some possible names for the new species.
Abrocomelies (singular Abrocomely) - combination of "abrocome" (also known as the chinchilla rat) and "comely."
Civelvets - combination of "civet" and "velvet."
Civelutins - combination of "civet" and "velutinous" (which means fluffy and fuzzy).
Tamartens - combination of "tamarin" and "marten."

I think Sylvet would be a neat choice, too. (Syl from forest, silk from their silky quality, vet from both civet and the velvet of their horns...inspired by Civelvet)
