Hi! My name's Angela, and I'm new to Sylestia! Loving it so far; I think I had an account a VERY long time ago but I never really participated and can't remember any of the log-in info, so I started 'for real' fresh. XD

Are there any readers/writers present? I'm a published author and I also write fanfiction of all sorts, plus I'm working on my second original fiction that will hopefully be the first of a series. I take writing commissions, too, if anyone's ever interested. ^^ I'm big into fantasy and sci-fi; my favorite series is probably the Cal Leandros books, if anyone else knows of it?

Hello there Kyn! I am currently a tween, but I do love writing and reading. I'm working on a big fanfic of Sylestia called the Sylesti Kingdoms, with currently 22 chapters so if you're looking for a read, that's there ^-^

Fantasy is by far my favorite topic and I *may* have trouble reading other genre books unless they're about wolves or just generally seeming interesting. I can tell you though, I've only once abandoned a book I started reading and that was because I couldn't understand it with all the western accent. (Might I mention it was a bit ago). In any case, Welcome to Sylestia! **stops rambling before bad things start happening**

welcome!

I personally love reading! Some of my favorite authors are Terry Pratchett and Cinda Williams Chima; Terry Pratchett's Discworld series and the Heir trilogy by Cinda Williams Chima are my favorite series. I also am a huge fan of Jane Austen, though her writing is quite old, it doesn't ever stop being interesting! I'm currently making my way through Pride and Prejudice and after that I plan to read Sense and Sensibility.

I have a thing for fantasy and dystopian books. My favorite two genres by far.
Oh, also, I forgot to mention, I would have to say my absoloute favorite series is The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. They're wonderful and very captivating, and I try to suggest them to lots of people.

I'm also a fanfiction enthusiast but I don't think that's really related to books, but it does relate to reading, so..yeah.

It's also really impressive that you have a published book!

Again, welcome to sylestia!

A LOT of people I know love TP; I've never been able to get into his books myself. XD A little too 'silly' for me, but I do know he's a dang good writer, even if he's not my personal flavor. I love Rob Thurman, John Connolly, Sarah Monette, and Dean Koontz is one my friend just got me into reading. Just to name a few. xD

Thanks! I'm really proud of it. ^^

Hehe, welcome to Sylestia!

I'm more of a reader than a writer(mostly 'cause my teachers in school made it the most miserable task ever so i don't enjoy it), but i'm highly considering doing a webcomic one day so i've been looking into it on my own. i design OCs like crazy but i don't actually flesh them out past names OTL

really into fantasy stuff, old and new, mainstream and not. I just read the Neverending Story a few weeks ago(LOVED IT), and i FINALLY got around to the first Harry Potter book(i've seen the movies too many times, i wasn't quite as hooked as i thought i'd be). oh, and Huntress by Malinda Lo is amazing, so is the original book of Howl's Moving Castle are some of my favorites. i like lots of magic and witchy stuff, heh.

i used to be more into romance and realistic fiction, but it's really easy to fall into cliches with that so i've lost interest. plus i've read fanfics that were better written. unfortunately, most of the books with more diverse characters tend to be realistic fiction...i need more lbgtqa+ fantasy, man. which is why, again, yay fics! i just don't seem to be in a lot of fandoms that have fics(or ones that aren't incredibly disturbing...)...

i will admit that i haven't read a lot lately, we got hit in all the hacking stuff with the credit cards back when, and so my Nook won't let me buy anything new till we put in a working credit card...i do like the digital option, i can tell you i go to book stores while on vacation and i no longer have to squeeze 7 1-3 inch books into my suitcase anymore...

@Kyndred - Hello, and welcome to Sylestia! I'm an avid reader, and I write a bit. I love historical fiction, non-fiction, and fantasy. (The two opposite genres...) Percy Jackson is probably my favorite mainstream series, but most of the books I read aren't well known. I'm currently reading The King in the Window which is a really good fantasy book that my friend recommended to me.

@Cyanidae- I loved The Neverending Story and Huntress! And Howl's Moving Castle. Have you read Ash? It's a twist on Cinderella by Malinda Lo. I prefered Huntress, but Ash is also really good.
