So I figured we need this.

We're just a club of bug-lovers and possible photographers. Basically a general chat of bug lovers. XD anyone's welcome to join in if they'd like.

Favorite Bugs: Butterflies, Moths, Dragonflies, Beetles, Owlflies, Lacewings, Antlions, & Wasps
Least Favorite Bugs: Cockroaches, Lice, (Arachnids) ticks, & spiders(unless in an alcohol vial xD)
Specific things I do with my insects- I did Entomology for 5 years in 4-H and have volunteered at a nature center with my insects as well as i am the insect specialist at the greenhouse i work at <3 ^^ (i want to be an entomoligist<3)
Edit- I also have raised caterpillars and released them when they hatch since I was 14^^(20 now) Its very fun and interesting to watch the caterpillars grow and pupate and to see them hatch<3)

Welcome to the bug club! In third grade (i think) we got to have classroom butterflies. We saw them change daily. It is pretty cool :D

I rescued this beetle from the pool earlier. I'm wondering what kind of species it is, I didn't find out yet, nothing seems to be the right kind. I sorta named it Rainbow (I let it go don't worry XD) because when the sun reflected itself on the beetle, there was a shine of rainbow colors.

lol I'm not gonna dog ya if you did keep it, cause i kill alot of insects for my entomology(since i pin them), so don't worry^^ as for the beetle, i'll look in my book and see if i can't find it:P

did the beetle have any patterns and was it all brown?

It's an orange-reddish in color, and it had no patterns but the separation between wings and head.

it could either be a Carrot beetle or a May beetle, its definitely is a type of scarab beetle

Both the May Beetle and the Carrot Beetle look like they could be it XD
I think it looks just a bit more like a Carrot Beetle though.
