So I remember from the Sylvorpa revamp discussion the mention of hidden traits. What are they and how can you tell if one of your pets has any?

For ever trait there are two genes that make up that trait. Each gene is assigned a letter A through however many traits are available for that particular slot or N for nothing. The closer to the beginning of the alphabet, the more dominate the gene.

Take for example floral henna on Aeridini, it's gene is F. I have a pet that is (FI). F is more dominate than I so the visible trait is floral henna. The hidden trait is I, which is lava lamp. If I were to breed him to a female with lava lamp either visible or hidden, I'd have a chance to have a baby with lava lamp as the visible trait.

The pet needs to be tested in order to see the hidden traits. Then you can either use the advance search to see the genes for each trait, or look at the URL for the pet.
