So I have a question on trait dominance. I've noticed the AA, BB and so on of the various traits and assumed the letters were about the dominance of the selected trait.

My question is when breeding two pets that have different gene dominance's can I correctly assume the one with the dominant trait has more of a chance of getting passed on? Or is the trait system different?

The reason I ask is because I have two pets that have all six trait slots filled, but they don't have the same thing in each slot. The male has Back Stripes, Fallow Deer, and Feathered Wings for Genes 1 and 2 and Mutation 2 while my female has Banded Stripes, Marble Fox, and Spirit Flames for the same slots. My girls traits are dominant while my boys are 'recessive' and I'm curious to see what the baby will get.

Also, I apologize if I put this in the wrong forum. I figured since it pertained to breeding I'd put it here. Thanks in advance!

You are correct that A is more dominant than B, but it isn't more likely to show up per say. If your two pets have back stripes (DD) and banded stripes (AA), then the only possible outcomes for the baby would be (AD, AD, AD, or AD) which would mean it would have banded stripes visible with back stripes as a hidden gene. The catch would be if your pet with banded stripes was actually (AD) instead of (AA). Then the baby outcomes would be (AD, AD, DD, or DD). This is why testing is important, since an untested pet will show (AA) for a visible banded stripes even if it really has a hidden trait.

Hope that makes sense!
