So, as always, the topic of Wheel Pet rates has come up, and will likely continue to reoccur. I can understand the desire to want to win one. The topic of this thread, while it won't replace a Wheel Pet, may help to still get a pet from the Wheel.

My thought was, what if there was a possibility to win a themed Festival Zone Pet from the Wheel? It would have better odds than winning a Wheel Pet, but still be rare. The pet itself would be, say, a 2vis, with a chance of having more visible, but that would be very rare. This way, people may still win a pet from the Wheel, but not necessarily a Wheel Pet. It would also give those people who can't hunt in the Festival Zone as much(be it due to work, school, etc.) another chance at getting themed Festival Zone pets.

I would love to hear what everyone else thinks of my suggestion. Whether this is a good idea, bad idea, or they don't really care either way. Just thought I would throw this out there, as personally, I'd love to be able to win themed Festival Zone Pets from the Wheel. :)

well, I'd rather get a themed pet of some kind rather than another philter I won't use, lol... so sure, I like the idea!

I think it would have to be balanced - for example I don't know that another type of pet being available would/should lessen the odds of getting a philter - but if that were to happen then I'd personally enjoy it as I spend not a lot of time in the festival zone.

I honestly don't like this idea at all, really. I can see where it would come from but I don't think it's a good plan.

First of all, if the pet came from the wheel it would have to be exclusive, so it would not be able to be mutated. This would no doubt confuse some players seeing as they are the exact same pet as is available to them in the zone.

Secondly, since they would have to be higher visible to be worth the exclusive tag, they'd be a good prize, so they would either have to lower the rates on all the other good prizes, or raise the rates on the lesser prizes, or both. In other words, if this was implemented in order for it to remain fair, wheel pets would only become that much harder to get.

Besides that, I believe having another way to get zone pets to be rather superfluous. They are already available to be fought in zone, you can find nest spawns, sometimes they are available in eggling auctions, you can buy them from another player, you can win one from various contests staged, and if all else fails you can still get an offspring. I feel that adding yet another way to get a zone themed pet (which if I'm understanding this trend, may continue to have previous themes repeated) just seems like it will make them very common, and part of the fun of getting that "tagged" pet and not an offspring is the feeling of it being unique.

I do see that some people can't really work the zone as much as they'd want to to try and get some themed pets, but the wheel usually isn't something that can be played overly much unless you've been participating in the fest zone or have a lot of gold/diamonds to throw at it. Personally, I think most people who are missing out on the hunting miss just that, the hunting, not necessarily zone pets. I also can nearly guarantee that they'd prefer to get a wheel pet than a zone pet from the wheel.

It is unfortunate that people sometimes miss out on what they want, but in this case I don't think making zone themed pets available on the (usually quite expensive to play) wheel is the right option. I don't have a better solution to offer, and I'm sorry for that. But I think the other ways available to get zone pets really should be sufficient.

Meh, this doesn't seem like it would accomplish anything IMO. Festival pets are already very high in numbers and by the end of the festival most of them are dirt cheap. People want wheel pets because they are rare and special.. adding a very common, presumably worthless festival pet isn't going to change the complaining about the wheel.

As far as people who can't get in the zone very much to catch festival pets.. they would be better off to sell their wheel ticket for and buy the themed they want.. depending on what it is they could end up with 50-100 themed pets for the value of one ticket.
