A couple of times, I've had that dreaded scenario occur where I'm typing a good chunk of text and get booted from the page for whatever reason. Sometimes it's because I tried to open something in a new tab, didn't click on the clickable part, and clicked Back out of habit because it's in the same location as Open In New Tab. Sometimes I've finished typing, clicked post, and then got logged out. Sometimes it's just I accidentally clicked too far to the right on the tab and closed out of the site. One time, my laptop apparently couldn't handle three tabs and froze- I had to pull the plug and thank God that the exam I was doing for college had a second attempt for me to use.
This is very frustrating because now I need to retype everything! And it always sounded better the first time.

I think that some kind of autosave as draft system would be very useful in these cases. On some sites I've been on, you could simply click back and you'd be sent back to your work. Others automatically placed new passages in drafts at the start. This is a great function to have for both forum posts and messages.

I don't know anything about coding, but I just wanted to put this out there because I know I'm not the only one who's been infuriated by these "Oops" moments. Plus, I'm bad at reremembering things. Once I pull it out of my brain and put it down, that's pretty much it. I can't recreate the amazing textal art that I just tossed out.

I agree with this 100%. I loose forum posts I was making all the time and it's extremely frustrating, because of it, I've gotten in the habit of having a word doc open at the same time and periodically copy and pasting what I have into the word doc. Drafts would be a lot easier.

Agreed. I cannot tell you how many times I have X'ed out or the message was 'too long' as it says. I agree that is always sounds better the first time.

Me: *does a 2000 word OC form* just when I finish... *safari crashes and stares in shock*

This would be a great implant!

I agree. Especially in the roleplaying form, it never sounds as good as the first time. Plus theres always the little close button in the corner that I end up accidentally clicking.
