So I was hoping that for the wardrobe, we could traverse the items by using page numbers instead of the arrows on the side. That way, if we know an item we are looking for is on like the 10th page of the held items, it is 1 click instead of 10.

Also, I was wondering why it need to reload the images each page, even if you have already been to that page of items.

THIS.

As new items are added all the time, at some point it's going to be hell finding an item in the current system.

I've also noticed that there are some item sets that aren't completely grouped together. For the held item Sphinx, the regular ones are grouped together but the Rainbow is on a completely separate page. The Staff of Stars isn't together with the Patriotic Staff of Stars whereas grouping them together would be intuitive. And there could be more - for example, I seem to remember coming across an outfit where all the non-recolorable versions were grouped together but the recolorable one was on a separate page (but I could be mis-remembering).

I'd totally support something like this.

I'd also think it's cool to have items (both outfits/backs/helds/wings/what have you) separated in some sort of folder view, in categories such as Festival (breaking into Spring 2013, Summer 2013, Fall 2014, and so on), or Monthlies (broken into Feb 2013, to December 2014, or something).

I like the idea of sub-categories, but it might be confusing when going back to look for something that you're not sure where/when it came from - you'd have to open up multiple, potentially a lot, of subfolders... unless there was a preview type system, but I could still see it being unwieldy. I know there're item guides but I think it's always good to have game/site organization be not super dependent on someone going to a different source.

I'm trying to think of something sub-categoryey though... Maybe if there were item tags? Like, each item had tags related to the name of the item (not specific, but one per group, like "sphinx" or "stars" for the staff of stars / patriotic staff of stars) and tags about if they were holiday, or monthly items (year and month), and in addition to being able to browse through all the stuff, we could also search for stuff using the tag system?

I think page numbers would be a great idea. If I know the item I want is on the last page, it's kind of a pain to have to load all the pages before it before I can get to it.
I think having a search box where you could enter keywords would be great, too. And also a way to separate monthly, seasonal, forum game, etc. items, like the check boxes on the advanced search?

I'd personally like to see the wardrobe completely revamped, not just adding in page numbers and navigating that way but just completely re-designing the layout. I love how we can see all of the items on the site from the wardrobe, that needs to stay. It's like a built-in dream avatar creator and it's a great feature. A search bar would be great.

Also it would be awesome if categories were implemented... for example a "Fall Fest 2014" category would display all the items you could acquire from that event.
