(For those who weren't here last year and curious as to what the trick or treating was this post and the one following it explain what it is and what the rewards were.)
It seems I wasn't the only person very stressed by last year's Trick or Treating. I really loved seeing everyone's outfits but it was very time consuming and we now have even more players. I would want to suggest that if we do have trick or treating that it's more like caroling was for the winter festival and just once a day.
On the other hand, I wonder if we could come up with a new game a bit like either the easter egg hunt or the sea shell hunt. Like finding bags that can be filled with treats or tricks.
Also, I'd like to see the return of the Hallowed title for those who weren't able to get it last year or weren't here with us last year.
I'd love to hear thoughts from others as well on either if they want to keep things the same or if they want to try something different. If you want to try something different, what would you like to see?

I would love if trick or treating was like the egg hunt or shell hunt,those were super fun and a lot easier than doing the profile-to-profile trick or treating. Going with a fall theme it could be a corn maze, and there could be scarecrows that do...something in it. xD

I wasn't around for the last couple collecting festivals, so I don't have any frame of reference for how those went, but I do certainly remember the ToT being very high stress (mostly due to the frequency when combined with how competitive it was, those of us in the top 20 pretty much did nothing but click ToT buttons for two weeks straight)

Ahh I'm so torn. D: The trick or treating was incredibly high stress... But I also really enjoyed it! Especially with the different options for the different choices and your points depending on that. I thought it was more fun than caroling for that reason, you had to make a choice and it was more of a game than just clicking a button.
Although I definitely support another few people getting The Hallowed title!! I fought so hard and was on the leaderboard for so long! Missed one day and it was impossible to come back... I would love another shot at it!

I definitely prefer the in-zone festival games myself, like the seashells and Easter eggs. It took sooooo much time and dedication and grinding to get The Hallowed title. Once in the morning every day, once in the evening every day, maybe afternoon as well if there was a slim bit of time there, and again maybe once in the middle of sleepy time if I happened to wake up and didn't have time midday to rack in those extra points. I even started to use two open windows just to get it done about 30% faster. @.@
Caroling was definitely easier with the once-a-day limit and that there was only one option (more boring though, but there was the flaw where people could intentionally be tricked in order to boost their points,) but still it was quite a monotonous task. Click... click... click... soooo much clicking ._.; I'm surprised no one broke a mouse! XD
I think the only downside to the seashells and Easter eggs was that there was only one title to go with it, whereas the ToT and Caroling had multiple titles. "Trickster" "The Sweet Tooth" "Renowned Caroler" "Season's Greeter" so on and so forth.
Though I suppose titles could be added in other ways as well. Title for taking down the festival's main boss and a different one for taking down the sets of the lesser bosses, or something to that end. Like... "Barghest Slayer" "Banshee Hunter" and "Bane of the Horseman," if we're to see a return of last year's enemies. Ooh, and "Zombie Slayer" if we have another horde of zombies! Kill 1,000 zombies, and boom, title. I'd happily kill wave after wave (after wave after wave) of undead for that title! <3
As for "The Hallowed" title, I think it'd only be right to return it if it had to be obtained by the same means as the initial appearance. If it was suddenly made easy to earn, it'd kind of be like a slap to the face of the people who had to put such a ridiculous amount of effort into getting it last year. Like Ash said, for those who got the title it took two weeks of clicking... and clicking... and clicking... and even then, a thousand times more clicking. "1-2-3 done! :D" for the same thing now? Ehh... doesn't seem right to me.
Titles and endless clicking aside, I love the idea of hunting for treat bags! Though it'd be even more interesting for there to be a few tricks to the setup as well. Like... run into X-amount of tricks, and that ends the trick or treating (as opposed to the number of movements as seen in the Egg Hunt.) And Pirate's suggestion of a Corn Maze gives a perfect setting!
Scarecrows would work too - have them 'give' the treats, or come to life as a trick where you have to kill the Scarecrow. Scarecrow battles could still give a special mob drop (wheel tickets, festival currency, or whatever) but running into too many would send a player back into the regular festival zone.
Just my thoughts on the matter. ^^;
Edit: I forgot to put "to" at one point, and I'm picky about grammar. >_>;

I never really got into trick or treating like others did, so I dunno. Trick or treating itself doesn't stand out to me when I think back on the fall fest. It was cute and fun, and I loved seeing other peoples avatars <3 ooooooh and I loved the handfuls of candy. My vote goes towards bringing that back.
and totally not because I still have 2 in my inventory rn >>
While it would be super cool to nab the Hallowed title, I do agree that the bar for that has already been set pretty high. It wouldn't feel quite right to me if it wasn't difficult to obtain - maybe for beating the dynamic boss (assuming there is one, dynamic events are way fun) a certain number of times, or some other generally time consuming/ difficult task. I'd love for it to be available for more than just 20 people, though :D title hoarder yeah yeah
(maybe it could be a wheel/ raffle prize?)
Also super thumbs up for multiple additional titles <3 Zombie Slayer would be the most excellent.

I forgot all about the other titles that came from the trick or treating. (Btw, adding to my first post links to information regarding what trick or treating was last year now that I found the original posts talking about it.)
Finish in the Top 20: Title: The Hallowed
Trick 500 Total Times as Visitor: Title: Trickster
Treat 500 Total Times as Visitor: Title: The Sweet Tooth
Host 500 Visitors: Title: Candy Dispenser
Give Out a Gift Basket*: Title: The Kind-Hearted
Either the trick or treating would have to stay in some form to keep the majority of the titles if we want new people to have a chance at them or they'd have to be used as rewards for other things.
What if trick or treating was kept but it was a more casual event that people could work on over the course of the festival to still receive most titles? No contest involved. Perhaps it could also have it's own currency or additional rewards in special avatar items. Things associated with Trick or Treating like baskets, candy, and costumes? It could maybe still award from time to time chocolate coins as well. And have The Hallowed title be used as a reward for something else like winners of forum contests? That way people could enjoy having an excuse to look at outfits and I think the lower stress nature of the event would be more fun with less on the line. I certainly wouldn't mind trick or treating if it was something that could be done more casually over the entirety of the festival doing a bit at a time. Also that would allow people a chance at the Hallowed title but keeping it still rare?

I don't think i'd terribly mind a really casual trick or treating, but I agree with everyone else that the ToT was high stress, that it was one of the things that made last Fall Fest my absolute least favorite fest on the site so far, and had me so burned out I took a break and skipped Winter Fest entirely for that matter..
I loved the egg hunt from Spring, and like Pirate, prefer in zone games. I liked the concept of ToT to a degree but it just felt so painfully time consuming, and repetitive after a while. I'd personally kind of love if ToT was done more like a random thing that has a chance to pop up while you click on the site like the Easter Eggs last year or the turkey from November, where a pumpkin pops up and if you click on it you get to go ToTing to some random 'house' or something maybe. I donno. I just had a really really hard time trying to like ToTing in it's design at all.

I wasn't here for the last fall festival, but I think that I'd like more non-zone festival games and prizes since I have difficulty loading zones during high traffic festival times (I experienced this during the last spring and summer festivals). I don't know about anyone else, but nurturing egglings and hatchlings is very cathartic to me, and it'd be nice to get some goodies out of that in the event that I can't load the zones or they load too slowly again.

The ToT portion of the site definitely has nothing to do with the battlefield, so I definitely think that it's a nice idea to bring it back.
However, yes, I'd like it to be a no-contest sort of deal. Very stressful to keep up with everything every x amount of hours.
Definitely support an achievement-rewarding event than a contest event. (ie title every 50/100/150 candies, or items every 50/100 visits?)
I remember pitching an idea for a new interface for trick or treating that let you pick your visitors instead of going through them in one line based on the order they came to your door...not sure if I should get that quote and bring it here. But I do remember that there was a bunch of "treat for a treat" or "gift for a gift" or "trick for a trick" stuff, and it made it confusing to have to run into people in a certain order...so it'd be cool to have a streamlined, easier interface to look over everyone as a collective.
