I would love it if there was some way you could, either by buying a "redo" with diamonds or other method, re-design your starter pet.

I barely knew what I was doing when I designed my nixi and it would have been very nice to have chosen something else, or at least have the ability to re-do him.

Something that would let you re-create your starter pet, redistribute the 4 GP or something like that, would be awesome.

Kinda see this as pointless imo

There's a variety of games that regard the first character/pet you make as the first thing you have unlimited choices with at the time, and thus to choose wisely what to put on it (or not) as you won't be able to change it again in the future.

It's just the same as choosing a username to have for the rest of your game life on the site, as it can be assumed you can't change it unless the game has an option to do so.

Seeing that there are essences that have the same GP as starters, it doesn't seem needed imo. Just means you have to live with your starter looking the way it is.
And pets are easier to make new via essences (which already cost diamonds) than say a username. Just that you don't keep the same pet ID and starter tag.

Now I know that some users create their pet not understanding how GP works or how the generator works. Those exceptions are fine, and if those users PM Krin, corrections such as distributing all GP or giving color to white hexes can be made. I think those users don't necessarily have diamonds to pay for a tiny mistake like that.

Imo this seems to me like a cheaper way to mold an enhanced pet (your starter has 4GP) to get updated with new genes that come out or changing colors if one comes up with a new template but doesn't want to use an enhanced essence for whatever reason (ie convenience, sentiment).

I advocate this change costing 750 diamonds if anything, as it matches the cost of a new enhanced essence.

When I first started I had no idea wtf I was doing. I now have a 3 carry nixi that is ugly and useless to me. And, because it's a starter, I can't get rid of it like I can with a pet made from essences or caught in the wild.

So I have a pet that I screwed up, but wasn't going to go begging Krin to let me re-design after I learned what I was doing. So how exactly is it pointless to want to pay some diamonds and help fund the site I enjoy in order to re-design the only pet that I am stuck with as long as I'm here?

A simple asking to Krin about the cans and can'ts of what to do with your pet would've sufficed imo. (Savynn, I believe, asked for some sort of change to her starter and after she figured out what genetics meant) Players can have limitless amounts of pets if they chose to, their starter regardless of whether it means being stuck with it or not.

After all, you can agree Krin is at least understanding and if he ever told you no, there'd be a reason to it. I wouldn't call asking him at a second shot to your pet now that you know how to distribute points as "begging".

I never really saw buying diamonds and funding the site as a sort of support. If that is the case, then you can buy more essences, make more pets, and stash your starter in a corner. Dye the starter if you'd like, that's something any user can do.

Every benefit to a diamond purchase can be thought of as a support to the site. But I still don't see that as a good reason this should be a diamond feature, if a feature at all, albeit reasonable if you are THAT disturbed by your starter.
Everyone wants to support the site. At the same time, there are features that I think ask a little much just because money was paid to enhance the gaming experience. Such as remodeling the first pet you ever made when you didn't know how to operate the site or how it worked.

I still advocate this suggestion for 750 diamonds, 1000 if our starter system has the mystical essence swing.

And I guess agree to disagree. What bothers one person might not bother another. An ugly pet I don't want I can release. Again, players are stuck with the starter. It shouldn't be shoved in a corner and forgotten with an "out of sight, out of mind" attitude.

Even if only restricted to the genes/mutations that were available at the time a player joined, it would still be nice to be able to correct something without having to bother the site owners to fix it.

Starter pets are much like other pets in the way that they can be redyed, there's that freedom if it's that ugly in color.
An equal suggestion to allow users to release their starter pets after a certain user level, age, pet capacity, or storyline completion can be made with the same argument so users don't have to be "stuck with the starter". Especially if one does not want to "bother the site owners".
After all, the only thing that separates a starter pet from another generated pet is that they cannot be released.

I do like the idea of restricting to genes/mutations at the time the player joined. It displays that you actually really just wanna change your pet because you don't like those 3 carries lol.
And it does put to ease the sort of manipulation to starters that players can have, if this was a thing.
However, I'd imagine this sort of restriction would be pointless and complex to code (just to restrict the pool of traits one can use to generate), so if this was a thing, it would be easier to just let users have free reign on what goes on their pets regardless of the original date of birth...in which, yes, 750+ diamonds is totally reasonable for this remodeling.

Starter pets can be released after completing Viridian Meadows. It's been that way for a really, really long time I believe.

It's been a while so I hope I'm remembering this correctly. The change to mine was that Kazuki who is only one visible only had 2gp filled out so no carries. I was really confused by the system when I joined. And so I was allowed to have carries put in for traits that were available at the time that I made him. I believe that it's been allowed to fix the gp issue, but colors are not changed if there's a mistake like leaving things in white.

Anyway, since my name was brought up I wanted to clarify what happened. I'm not sure if this is still done for people or not, or if this was something from when the community was smaller. But I would send a private message to Krin asking about what can be done in your case.

I would lovee being able to redo my starter pet, because:
a. Made mine before Aurleons were redesigned
b. There were very limited gene choices at the time
c. Didn't even notice what finned crest did when making it lol (feels as if it's a 2gp pet to me)

Though I've already spent like 20 lesser dyes recoloring mine. But even so, I still don't like mine because of the genes. v_v

Also, wait, we can release our starter pets??? That's news to me. :v
