Let's face it, the land is so much more interesting in the festival zone! Bosses, nests, chests, and all sorts of interactive things other than battle after battle after battle.

So my suggestion for the future, is throwing in a little something to give the water that extra oomph!

*Debris: same as the item crates.
*Wreckage: same as the item chests.
*Bubble Nest: same as regular nests. (perhaps limited only to water-based species?)

And of course, bosses are always a high incentive to venture out into the otherwise-lonely waters.

Other possible suggestion for the current festival:
*assuming I'm correct that this isn't already implemented, and that it isn't a simple matter of being extremely unlucky... >.>

Kelpari and Sylvorpa sighted on the sandy shore!

The reason why I'm so bored of the water to begin with is the need for Ocean Waves Kelpari. It's an endless string of battles with run-of-the-mill pets in the open waters, and it's so dreadfully boring. (Though it's still soooo much better than evil self-healing water sprites .__. *shudders in remembrance of the Fall Festival*) There are also very few on the market, probably because others are bored with the water as well.

Current - but by now, outdated - numbers to add to the point:

Captured Deep Sea Sylvorpa: 72
Captured Ocean Waves Kelpari: 60

Captured Gladiolas Lunemara: 146
Captured Night Flight Nytekrie: 150
*Other land pets have similar numbers

And that's within the first few days of the festival.

Add in the factor that most DS Sylv and OW Kelps are hunted specifically in the water (since there's nothing else to do in there XD) while a vast majority of the rest are probably just random lucky encounters on the land, and the balance is off by a landslide.

Just a passing thought I had while my avi rowed around in circles for a straight half-hour. *hums the row your boat song*

I agree with all of what you said. The water is pretty boring.

what I suggest for future maps:

Put bodies of water in the middle of the map/in the middle of obvious pathways/shortcuts to get to named.

Most players are only interested in named (like me, idk others), and would love to go through the shortest ways possible to get to each one cyclically. (ie this festival, it goes in a backwards C motion from the northwestern boss, around, to the southwestern boss, and reverse)

If you put a navigable waterway in the way (like a dock and a convenient direct way to get to and from, instead of longwinded in corners of maps and having to walk long straight lines to get to and from a boss and the other side of the map's dock), players will be forced to use those waterways to get to the next boss, and hopefully find water themed pets along the way.

My 2 cents.
