How do eggs work, I just found one randomly and now it's in my hatchery. Does it hatch on its own? Do I need to do anything? How often do you find eggs in the wild? Is it a rare event or something common? Lots of egg questions.

Eggs will be able to hatch in 3 days. You can initiate the hatch and use an item such as a philter on it. If you leave an egg past the 3 day timeframe, it will hatch on its own and won't get the stat bonus.
As for finding eggs in the wild, I'd say it's rare to find them.
Thats pretty much it for eggs :)

SPEAKING OF EGGS...
almost all eggs in my hatchery are 50 gold!

You can also speed up the hatching process by nurturing the egg and having other users nurture it
