First, do you have three team members yet? I only found two. I'm assuming it's these two, correct?

There's no gear on them that I see. Gear is very important in this game. Not only for pets to have gear but also the right type of gear. Do they have any proficiency points filled out? Are their skill points filled out?

Pets in certain proficiency trees benefit from different types of gear. It's good to be sure relics have the right type of damage, too. I can go into more detail if you like or link you to Flute's guide.

How do you get three team members?

Once you go through enough of the storyline, you can pick up the third member slot at the plaza in Saerielle but I can't remember exactly when that is. Let me know if you need help with gear.

It'd probably be best to take this to private messages. I'll see what I can do to help you. Need to figure out if you have in mind already what proficiency trees you have or would want your team pets to be in. If you don't have a tank planned yet, you should probably go ahead and make one. And then choose what type of cannons you want to go with your tank.

Then if you have any questions I can do my best to help answer and offer advice. I'll see if I can help pick up some proper gear once I know the proficiency trees your pets will be in.
