What date should Ima become an adult?

Okay, when referencing a pet it's best to say it's a pet, and preferably include a link :) Just so there's no confusion and they're easy to find.

Pets who were bred become adults around 26 days, so you have about 17 left to go. This number can change though with the amount of nurtures it was given as an eggling/hatchling, and the use of magical pies. Soo no one can tell you with certainty.

What about generated pets? How long does it take them to become adults (I don't know even though I'm not a newbie)

I think it's 3 days as an egg, and a total of 8 until they become adolescents, so my best guess is 18 since they start as adolescents. I don't really remember...

There's actually an easy way to tell by checking the image code. It's fairly simple to explain, but I prefer using examples to make sure it's 100% clear.



I've been waiting for this lovely girl to grow up for quite a while now, and I'm always checking her age. Currently her image code looks like this:

For checking the age of a pet, the important thing to look at is the "maturity=" segment which is set in red.

Maturity = 596, which counts for 596 hours.
A pet becomes an adult once that number reaches 648 hours (or 27 days.)
Throw in some simple math (648 - 596) and she has a total of 52 hours to go, which is 2 days and 4 hours.

Her profile shows that she's only 12 days old, of course, but I've fed her the maximum possible number of pies since she hit adolescence. (That'd be two pies, for those who may be wondering. 1 pie = 6 days + 3 day cooldown before using another pie. Use second pie after 3-day cooldown to add 6 days, and by the end of the second 3-day cooldown you have an adult! Possibly a few hours sooner depending on nurtures.)

So to wrap everything up:

Eggling hatches at maturity=72
Hatchling turn adolescent at maturity=216
Adolescent turns adult at maturity=648

The image code of Ima says "maturity=648" and yet, she's still an adolescent. Perhaps things aren't so straightforward?

I had thought that maybe the larger image might be why there was some discrepancy, so I decided to check the original, smaller image, but it also says 648:

The size of the image wont effect anything else in the code. However, I did some looking and your pet is not tested. A pets code will not show it's proper maturity until it's tested. However, since it's bred, you can safely assume it will become an adult around 27 days old.

If you would like to know her proper maturity, along with any and all non-visible traits that she may have, you're going to have to get her tested. There are several people in the Breeding Discussion forum more than willing to do this for you, and I'm sure there are still some users who have unwanted Standard Genetic Testing Kits (the one time use one)

Maturity = 408

How long is that? 648-408=240 hours, or 10 days.

Then there's your answer. ^^ Though even untested, a pet will still have an "Age" marker as well. It's not as accurate as the Maturity, but if you can't or don't want to get the pet tested, you can look at the age and judge from there.

A generated pet will be an adult at 18 days.
An egg will hatch around 3 days.
Around 8 days a hatchling will grow up to an adolescent.
At 27 days the -bred- adolescent will be an adult.

Also factor in that 5 nurtures = 1 Maturity point, or 1 hour. So if you have 30 nurtures, that takes 6 hours off of the time it needs to grow up.
