Do I need to do anything to my new hatchling in order for it to grow up?

You don't need to do anything to the hatchling to have it turn into an adolescent. It takes approximately 5 days for a hatchling to turn into an adolescent. Nurturing (clicking its picture from profile page and selecting an action) can help speed up the process of hatching/aging for hatchlings and egglings.

How do you get Armor and Accessories on pets?

To equip your pet with armor, go to your inventory and select the item you want to use. Then scroll down to the pet statistics area below the inventory, select the pet you want, and then click the armor slot you want the equipment to go in.

An you can also use magical pie, which gives I believe 144 automatically to a pet. Can't use on eggs, though.

Also by nurturing hatchlings/ egglings will help the pet grow a little faster, although its a small amount, but if u can get tons of nurtures even from other players they will grow up all the faster.

Where do you get a magical pie?

It's from the diamond shop, mainly. It's a diamond-only item.

The only other place you'll probably find it is in the trade broker (trade>trade broker), under philters. It's kinda expensive I think.
