You are attacked by Lord Talon's Vulnyx Pets!

I dove headfirst into that attack the first time, thinking 'Boo yeah, I'll going to kick vulnyx butt like I did all the other boss battles! 8D' I go in, and I almost get a heart attack. Four stars, two lvl 20 vulnyxs, while all the training I got had me my Seraph at lvl 16 and Saffasfras at lvl 15. In one battle, the starter elixers from the very beginning of the game bestowed by Jinxie, were all used up, draughts, mana, health and all, and I was barely able to whittle Thunder's health by 10%, before admitting my very first defeat. In the entire game. And the thing was, I had never assigned Profeciences before that battle (I was using an outdated browers P:), won every one, and when I had done my Profencients (right before Lord Talon's catastrophies of sylesties), and lost horribly. After that, I've trained my Sylesties (Now level 19), thrown myself at the two Vuls countless times, and lost each time, wasting about 5k in potions and healing. I'm pretty sure its just me, so feel free to ignore this rant :U Just sorta blown at the fact I can't take them down. It just seems so sudden- you've been battling Sylesties under your level, some with stars, or group bandits (that was a little tough, but I never lost a sylesti), all with under three stars, and under your level, and then BAM, stars all the way, four levels above you. I know I've been taking advantage of lower-leveled enemies, but you don't have much choice of training, since other areas have enemies that are too low in level, and you have just that many enemy encounters before you come to a story-part. And I've been taking the aggressive approach in hopes of toughening up my sylesties, and yet I come here and get wiped. I know Lord Talon is supposed to be the big boss, but really? :U And I find it a little unfair that none of your pets know attacks that can inflict things like bleeding just yet in the game, and apparently everything else in the world can. I swear half of the health is taken away by those status alone :V Poor sylesties...

Well, if you read to here, thanks for taking the time to hear me be nasty! 8D Have a nice day! I'll be restocking on hundreds of elixers :D

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time. It's been a very long time since I've done that fight and I only vaguely recall it now. I think that's probably where I had my team first die as well.

I was wondering what proficiencies are your pets? I do see some gear issues. I know it's not easy to get all the best gear you can at that level so I can see what I can do to help them with some gear.

You may want to go ahead and making one of them a tank if you haven't already. I don't know how much it helps at that level but at the current max level shadow and water are the best tank builds. Also, if you haven't, you may want to try putting at least five proficiency points in health even in whichever pet isn't the tank. I remembered dying a bit more easily until I did that.

Boss battles in this game are pretty brutal. You want to make sure your points are all sorted and you've got your pets equipped as best you can~ I'd be very happy to set you up with a pet with some really awesome stats to help you out of you're interested. You'd just have to raise it to your current level. ;)

Like what Savynn said, your gear is not up to date. You should try to get the best gear that you can.

Also, do you have three pets in your party? If you don't, buy the third slot. You will definitely need it later and it will help you a lot in this battle.

And I understand when it comes to being able to fight a certain amount of enemies before facing the bosses and the other areas being too weak for leveling up. My suggestion is this: take part in the dynamic events. Like saving Esior's Haven from the bandits. You will be fighting those close to your level, and there will also be three star opponents for the Esior's Haven. (I suggest if you are in a battle with the 5 star boss, just leave it and you will be able to go back when the event has ended. They occur right at the very end. You can try battling, but even I have a hard time with pretty good equipment and three pets.)

And I think you should also try acquiring more mission pets. They can provide you with a good source of income (especially the ones that take 12 hours, if your pet have much higher level you can expect 2x the rewards). They can also provide you with some gear and potions. Before, I bought my own potions, but now I don't need to since I got quite a lot from the satchels.
