Another newbie here! This game seems like it could be lots of fun. Just finished the tutorial and I already have an egg that I will stare at intently until it hatches for me so I'm pretty excited about that.

I am in my 30s, and a stay at home mom so I have endless hours to waste away on petsites like this after the child and husband are shipped off to the outside world and all of the neverending chores are finished so I am always down for a chat!

Im a spooky girly, always looking for reccomendations on shows or books to binge, I also enjoy baking sourdough!!!! and coming up with new recipes to inflict on my family, I am an animal lover, currently have 3 cats, somewhat crafty, and always interested in hearing about other people's hobbies.

I havnt checked out the event yet, I have been poking around the first few quests and getting the hang of the game.

Oh, a good question would probably be if the pets in the game "tell" you what element they will be best at with their stats? Or do all of the stats sort of start out the same?

Alright, after a lot of debating, I believe A Battler's Guide to Elements and Proficiencies should help with your question (I personally don't battle as much so I can't really help there, haha!)

I also thought the Guide to Making Gold may be helpful, since when your starting out gold can be a little scarce. As well as the Newbie's Guide to Getting Started

A tip I have for saving gold is not using it for the healers in town since they charge outrageous prices and your pets will recover health on their own and even revive after a while (I think it takes 30ish minutes to revive? Not sure though)

Do you have a favorite species yet? I may be able to get you a free max stat to help boost you in the early zones :)

You are a rock star for those guides! I have kinda just been staring at my first capture trying to get him to talk to me and hes been tight-lipped. Hes 1 higher in strength than intelligence and hes a muted dark blue with brown accents so is he meant for water or air? Is he a stormy sea or desert wind? Maybe that guide will help me!

And I hadn't looked beyond the starter species yet, and of those I like the zolnixi, now I will check out the others, in no particular order:

Bulbori, farlora, ferrikki, griffi, luffox, morkko, ryori (these are interesting, I'll probably play with them in the generator)

Any of those, and honestly anything would be appreciated, I have yet to begin trying to work out genetics or why the offspring previews I am generating show babies with no markings even though both of my pets have a marking but I figure there will be a guide for that as well when I get around to breeding.

For building teams you normally want to use a tank, a dps, and a light. Since you only have 2 battle slots at the current moment I would suggest just a tank and dps for now. For the tank I suggest using water or Earth over shadow since shadow can be really hard to use and learn and doesnt have as much of a payoff as the others do. Fire and air both work as dpses, just depends on if you want to do single target (air) or multi target (fire) damage.

Stats are interesting, since you can boost stats with the proficiency points. However, the higher the base stats are, the bigger the boost from the proficiency points (which is why max stats, super stats, and super maxes are highly desirable for battling) super stats and supermaxes are not something you currently need to worry about though, since you're in the beginning game. Most don't worry about it until the endgame.

Oh yes, sorry, forgot to explain that! On his pet profile there should be a green button that says "View Prices under all the info like his name and his age. There you should see that hes set up for 1 gold (because you can't make pets free here, so thats the closest you can get) and you should be able to buy him :)
