Every guide for exploring and leveling pets mentions level up points, but I can't find the button to spend them? one guide says its above the proficiency points button but I don't see it anywhere? I've looked through the intro tutorial and I couldn't find it. I feel so silly lol

Go to the pet's profile page and hit the button called proficiencies. It is in the information panel.

level up points no longer exist and haven't in years, the guide you are using is just outdated. Someone should probably should bother Krin until that gets edited to at least note that it's out of date

They were removed as a function when the Proficiency overhaul happened back in early 2018, and the new setup (with 6 total prof points when at lv75, where the amount of stat bonus they give is scaled based on the combo of pet level and number of the profpoints put into the stat) is much easier to use
