First up, I don't know how the multi-target fire thingy works. I can only hit one enemy per turn. What's going on? Second thingybob, what's the best armour/relic/accessory (the bracelet thingies) for each and every faction? K thanks bye

Hi! I might not be the best person to answer but I will do my best. ^^

The multiple target fire thingy, as you said, is actually just done by your sylesti. When it uses it's first or second ability, you chose a main target, and a little damage just spreads to the others.

Also, I don't know the best armor for every type, but I believe for low levels "Evoker" armor is best for fire sylestis, and since you're asking about the fire move I'm assuming you have a fire sylesti. "Illusionist" is best for Shadow sylestis.

That's all I know, so if someone else could add on that would be great!

Fire's Fireball attack automatically hits two opponents if two or more opponents are present. I believe you still choose one opponent it definitely hits?
Once you unlock Explosive Fireball at level 30 that move hits all three opponents.

Damage stat should be aligned with element designation, non-damage stat should be aligned with pet job on the team

At sub-60 levels:

Tank pets (elements: water, earth, shadow, light. Slot 1)
Agility-aligned equipment, for highest defence and evasion
so
Assassin (str/agi) = earth, water
Illusionist (int/agi) = shadow, light

Attackers (fire, air)
dexterity-aligned equipment, for highest crit rate and accuracy
Myrmidon (str/dex) = air
Evoker (int/dex) = fire

a Light Healer
either Illusionist or Evoker, by player preference and need

a Water Buffer (not a viable option until lv30 at minimum)
either assassin or myrmidon, by player preference and need
