Aw, thank you! I wish I had a different picture of Sadie, but unfortunately since we've only had her for a week I haven't actually gotten a better picture, haha.

Yep, very new. Which means she also needs to learn the rules. But she apparently was already house trained and has chosen me to be her person, so that's nice. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be the one trained her, since I'm too busy, so hopefully she grows closer to my mom and dad.

Yeah, they're truly the light of my life. Couldn't function properly without a dog

What breed would you recommend?

Well it truly depends on what kind of dog you want, a lazier one? Hypoallergenic? Things like that. I may like a certain breed, but you may decide it doesn't work with your lifestyle. And it also definitely comes down to the dog itself as every dog has a different personality. But if you want a breed, you could tell me what you would prefer in a dog and I could list pros and cons of some breeds :)

Hmm. Okay.
Maybe a sweet dog, kind and obedient. Not a lot of shedding. Not lazy, but not too much energy.

Alright, shedding is pretty unavoidable for most dogs, except for poodles since they have hair instead of fur (which also makes them hypoallergenic.) And some dogs shed more than others, even within their own breed (trust me, we had a dog that died a few years ago and we're still finding her hair under furniture, and we have had her breed for years and never had a dog that shed as much as her)

(I used this website to get a few of these breeds out as examples, you could look here for more if you'd like: https://bullybeds.com/blogs/news/the-25-most-obedient-dog-breeds)

However, it also depends on the size of dog you'd like. And for some dogs, they have period of extra shedding (during the summer mostly, to get rid of the winter coat)

Labrador Retrievers are smart, obedient, great family dogs, have a bit of shedding but if you brush them occasionally (I think like once a week-twice a month) it should be alright, they like walks about once a day and would love to cuddle up against you or play with toys. They can be kind of big, though. They also carry this personality most of the time down to mixed breeds with Labrador (like the Dalmador, which is what Sadie is)
Read more here for more specifics: https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/labrador-retriever/

Golden Retrievers are super loving, great with families, and great with other dogs. Training's good because they're very smart and obedient. Though they are quite energetic and if their energy is not spent, they may dabble in behaviors like chewing up things. And they have periods of really heavy shedding.

English Springer Spaniels are smart and obedient, alright with younger children but would prefer older children, very loving dogs though, and pretty good with other dogs as well. Very light shedding however, and can be energetic and a little lazy at times. So far, this has been the breed to hit the most of your boxes, so definitely check out and read more about them and decide for yourself :)
Read more here, or search them up (but the akc guides are REALLY helpful for purebreds, if it's a mix not so much):https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/english-springer-spaniel/
