I have this little boy here: http://www.sylestia.com/view/pets/?petid=515893
He has Vis snow leopard, but I want to know if his unicorn tail will be visible too. Is there any way for me to find out if his tail mutation will be visible via the same trick that helps find out their maturity?

Well, the only way to see if they have a mutation before they're Adolescents is to test them, obviously, but you can see what they'll look like after you test them by copying the image URL and then bumping their maturity up to 216 or greater. (I usually go with 270 because I often forget the EXACT number of hours they turn into an Adolescent at.)
So this guy
is definitely going to look like this:

If the gene is italicized, it's a carry. If it's strait writing, it's a vis.
So this lil boy I just hatched obviously has 2 vis.
His genes prove this to us. Nighthawk and moon runes are written strait and are visible while shimmer tips is italicized and not visible.
In his mutations, we see that moon armor is not italicized and therefore we can assume that it will be visible.
Forest horns and stardust are both italicized so we can assume they are only carries.
Let's "grow him up" using the method Junco posted. I add a number to his img url code maturity and:
Voila! Visible moon armor and no visible forest horns or stardust!!
(And the number the maturity has to be over is 216 to see the adult version btw)
