I'm not really sure what else to call this. But anyway I don't mind people breeding with my holiday pets that I set up for breeding with non-holiday pets in general, but when a new type of holiday pet comes out I think it would be nice to set it up so people who are wanting to breed their holidays with mine could be the only ones to do so for a while. Of course, a person could just request a breeding but there's a convenience of having pets already set for a breeding price. I was wondering if this might work for at least the pets that are tagged with being holiday pets.

I just thought of this now:

this is more of an issue with females than males. (seeing that females are the one that undergo recoveries)

Otherwise, I guess a good holiday-themed breeding proxy is high breeding prices. (ie Black shoots for the moon when he prices his pets for breeding xD At least early on, especially for the females. I remember one time his male with multiple vis had high prices. Same with early themed ryoris with high vis count.)

My two cents:
Parents in general are unaffected in whoever they mate and what offspring they have. I think you know this.

Imo, purebred things are either for further breeding for accomplishment of having a purebred thing or reselling, so the entire market for it is rather selfish and pompous. I regard complaints of "your nonthemed bred with my themed [that was on public breeding for other holiday breeders]" as hilarious and a bit unreasonable.

To combat those complaints, I'd think that there'd be either a post in breeding forums that require someone to ask the owner to breed with other holiday mates, a PM doing the same thing, or high breeding prices.

And the above shouldn't be a problem for holiday breeders who care that much about holiday things.

Really, I'd rather just let people breed with most of my holiday pets for free. I don't really know if I do anything to help anyone but I hope it helps people with their personal holiday themed projects. There's nothing in it for me. I generally don't mind people breeding their non-holiday pets with my holiday pets. I was just thinking it would be a nice option to have a setting to toggle for only other holiday pets to help people with their projects. I would probably want to set such an option myself during a festival and for a short period of time after. I personally think that holiday breeding projects are fun.

Also, I would also never blame anyone for selecting to breed a pet that's set up for 1 gold breeding. It is set up for 1 gold. People aren't mind readers.

I see what you mean, but when you "set holiday pets to breed only with holiday pets", the only person you help is another person with a matching mate. It doesn't really help the owner who set the toggle (because the owner doesn't get the egg or an elongation of a project, just...the gold).

Holiday breeding is fun, it has it's own little niche and stuff. o: It's just that an issue like this kinda just affects the females, and holiday breeders who are picky enough to select mates for offspring that apparently isn't theirs to begin with (setting this supposed toggle = affects other players who want eggs = you get no eggs in the process).

But, benefit of doubt here, this is probably, by other people, a sensible toggle. This would complement the pet search.

I have mixed feelings about this. Since (like flute said) this only really affects females, is it really necessary to implement extra time into coding a toggle for holiday-pet-only breeding when people who really want to breed can just send you a message?

Yes, it does take extra time to get their IDs and set them up for each breeding (after recovery), but for some reason to me, it only seems like an extra feature that isn't a necessity, so to speak :/ It only takes a few clicks, and hopefully not too much of your time :3

I do think that this feature can be implemented though, but maybe not placed high in the listing until other bigger game implementations are put into place :3
