This is a weird one and very hard to explain.

So I've got YouTube playing on the small-window mode while doing Sylestia stuff. Bred some pets no problem, and then decided to run around and get some temple things knocked out.

While tapping the buttons to move around and battle, suddenly my YouTube is pausing, unpausing, and the volume even changed. The YouTube window is at the bottom left corner of the screen, and the Sylestia movement arrows are on the center right, so it's not like I'm hitting youtube by accident. YouTube is literally just reacting to me playing the game for some reason.

Like right now while tapping away in the text box here, YouTube isn't reacting at all. No response to my on-screen keyboard inputs.

But on the explore screen, with no onscreen keyboard present, YouTube reacts as if Im giving it commands.

Edit: Okay. Seems to be when I first go into battle or when I leave the battle that it pauses? I don't know it's whacky.

Edit 2: The sudden volume decreases and increases on YouTube seem to be caused by sound triggers on Sylestia, like when interacting with chests, even though I have all Sylestia sounds off.

Yes, this happens to me too. You can turn off sounds in the lost grove, though they stay, and for some reason I cant mute the site ( at least on chrome? Not sure about any other mobile browsers, but I assume its the same) This is a big reason why I dont do lost grove. I want to listen to something or watch YouTube while doing stuff, and yet I cant. Its works in every other astryls vale place or festival designated explore areas. It doesnt work in exploration zones 1 or 2, which makes sense. But that fact that the lost grove wont let me do anything in favor of the games sound really ticks me off since everything else that works like the lost gr9ve lets it work.

Yep, LG has always taken control of my ipad sound and no amount of telling it no has ever worked for me. I can set the sound off (both using the sliders and clicking on them for the x), refresh the page and have no sound. As soon as I get into a battle, the sound comes back on full. Once out of battle I check and sure enough the sound is still set as off, but it's playing away. Occasionally I'll even get both the battle music and the ambient music going at the same time. I've been forced to turn my tablet sound off completely. There is no way to mute tabs on my tablet. I even asked the guy at the apple store and he said "oh yes, you can mute tabs" and then was totally unable to show me how. People don't seem to realize that chrome, safari and firefox all removed (or buried it so deep I have yet to find it) that ability from mobile some time ago.

I can even log out and shut down chrome and the music is still playing. At least there all I have to do is play something else and it finally will shut up and not start back up.

It is something that I am worried about when the site gets revamped. If fest zones get sound, I think I will cry.

Seems like there's a slew of oddities across various devices.

I've occasionally had the sound persist on PC even after turning all of the options off (usually the battle summary music, and it will even play simultaneously with the field music if that's still on) but the mute button on the browser tab bypasses that so I can silence it that way.

On mobile the sound does go off entirely without trouble when I change the settings, but it affects the small YouTube window when the Sylestia sounds (though muted) would be cycling.

These issues are all very strange and seem a bit above my pay grade lol. The fact that a single website can somehow affect an entire device doesn't seem right. That sounds like a device, browser, or operating system issue. That isn't to say that there isn't anything I can do to change it from the site's perspective, but one of those three things listed above is not doing their job correctly.

Unfortunately, the music/sound effects have always worked as intended on my end in the various things I've tested them on. I cannot reproduce the issues that you guys experience, which makes it extremely difficult to diagnose. Additionally, logically, what you describe shouldn't be happening. Something vital is breaking or becoming corrupted somewhere and I haven't a clue what or where. This seems emphasized by the fact that your devices are having alternative apps and stuff affected by a simple web page within your browser.

Regarding the future, the entire exploration systems are going to be rebuilt from scratch utilizing the latest tools available at that time. So the current system for music/sound, for example, will not be the same as what's used moving forward.

There should be a way to mute the site on your mobile devices. For example, on mine, I can go to Settings -> Site Settings -> Sound -> Allow/Disallow sites to play sound. This is for Chrome on Android. I can also add exception to this incase there are any sites I want to allow sound to be played on.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that for an ipad. I've searched to no avail to find out how to do it. I would LOVE if someone could tell me how to do it on an ipad. I couldn't do it on my old one, I can't do it on my new one. I'm even willing to change from chrome to a different browser. It shouldn't be this hard. I've given up.

iPad 9th gen, 16.4.1, Chrome (latest update) and Safari (latest update)
iPhone 12, 16.4.1, Chrome (latest) and Safari (latest)
Idk if this really helps much though, as I have been through a few mobile devices in the last year and its always the same problem.
