I think by now everyone is aware that there are a good handful of traits that have odd colour overlays. Typically a translucent white that ruins any design.

I'm going to show every trait with this problem in this thread, and send it off to Krin. :)

Note that I won't be including rainbow traits, because the whole point of them is to be rainbow. I also recognize that some traits are supposed to have a glow effect, but why make it white instead of using the accent colour slots? Some traits aren't bad because of the white (example: aeridini mystical petals aren't bad) but it might be interesting to explore what the trait might look like without the predetermined white and instead use the eye colour, A1, or A2 colour slots.

Lucky Dust: Should reconsider using eye/A1/A2 instead of just white.

Spring Blossoms: Not nearly as bad as other traits. There should just be a different way of doing a glow effect.

Valentine Lace: One of the biggest culprits on every species. The white throws off almost every design. Why not use A1 or 2 or eye colour? Or just lighten the valentine lace colour slightly to show the detail.

I also recognize there is highlighting and showing the material type, but look at the aurleon ghostly mutations. The body and wing beads are grey while the head mutation is black while the entire design is all #000000. Why? So thus the head mutation is not on my list, and the wing/body mutations are.


I also realize that some of these aren't that bad. For example, the ny'vene runes are now much better, but still have a slight white overlay... and I think that is a good compromise. There is just a lot of inconsistency and some white lines and overlays seem super unnecessary.
