I'm not sure where to post this, so I'll just leave it here.

How may of you use adblockers, do you think it's annoying, which ads do you think are worst.

And of course why are some words suddenly underlined in blue and how do we keep it from happening?
(those non game related tooltips are annoying - and really get in the way at times.)

And of course there is the question of how much is too much and how much can be excused to carry server cost, cost of artwork and keeping the admins alive.

Ads on other renowned pet sites don't seem blatantly intrusive. Not much to say about this site lol.

Its a bit trouble for me to find ad blockers.

No comment on what statement is better suited for an admin to address.

I found Sylestia the same was as Crystal there did......an ad on another gaming site.

On said site the way they had there ads made it unobtrusive, but also was placed where they would catch your eye. They had a thin bar maybe about a 1/3 of the width of the blue bar on top here, that went the width of the screen, and 2-3 different gaming site ads would appear there and would change randomly now and then.

I actually found this site through someone on skype and usually am not bothered by ads unless they interfere with what I'm trying to do. After a bit of research it seems like I'll have to clean my browser of some annoying addons.

It seems to happen a lot to Internet Explorer users. I use Mozilla Firefox and don't seem to run into these problems.

I like to use firefox or chrome, but curiosity leads me to strange places.

On the up side I know how to deal with those issues by now, but I can never quite be sure where the disturbance originates from.

edit: I still think it's an interesting discussion to have though. Ad based economy is fascinating.

I think I know what you mean by the adds that randomly underline words in blue and make them links... Super annoying. I use Chrome and that happened to me for a while... Following the links to the origin allowed me to disable it for a little while, but it always came back. I have no idea where it came from, but I ended up uninstalling a bunch of stuff, those included, that somehow installed themselves onto my computer. Installed Ad Blocker Plus (Because I was getting pop-ups and youtube ads are annoying) and haven't had any problems since~

I figured out how to fix that fairly quickly, it was just annoying. I need to start policing my downloads a bit more.
