the items we win from PaD, the advent calendar, and other forum games are commonly untradeable. I don't have a huge issue with items like avatar items, catalysts, tokens, and 'whole' items being untradeable.
My main issue is the fact that I'm not sculpting this fest and got stuck with an untradeable melted majestic fress. I can't sell it, I can't send it to someone who'll use it, it'll most likely melt away in my inventory. It's half to 1/3 of a majestic fress, which is a good prize, but it should be tradeable.
If anyone knows why these items are not tradeable, please tell me.

I agree. I dont want to make any of the maj so what can i do with it? I want to be able to trade it for melted fabled. You can trade up, why cant you trade back? 1 melted fabled for 6 melted regs, 1 melted maj for 2 melted fabled. I would be ok if those were non trade xD im always going to have use for melted fabled

I have heard it was because these are meant to be gifts and not something to be 'profited' from by selling.
But, honestly, I would rather be able to at the very least gift these to people if I don't plan to use them (for instance, I just can't work up the energy to do this fest, so the items I get for it, are pretty much useless to me) rather than know they went to waste.
I feel the same for all the no-trade stuff. I have a ton of no-trade items sitting in my inventory that I will never personally use, but the hassle of having to find someone who wants to use them that is willing to send me their pet to use them on is too much trouble most of the time.

*stares at the 5 genetic one-use testing kits, the waters in my invent, and the other non-tradeables I'll never use that go into the fest void each year* agreed, like just even a gifting (no brokering) would be nice.

It is very easy to flood Sylestia's economy with items with the playerbase we typically have active at any given time. Sometimes when we have promotional things, such as Pick a Door or Advent Calendar, we want to give players something really nice as rewards to make it feel fun and exciting. However, not everyone is always interested in every aspect of the game. Some players don't care for Ice Sculpting, or Snow Wars, or Essences, etc, etc. If these free premium items were allowed to be traded, it would have a massive negative impact on the game's economy as everyone would just dump the unwanted things on the broker and crash the market for those items. Since these are typically premium items, players can now just purchase these at massive mark downs and no longer need to purchase them for Diamonds. And, again, since they are premium items, they are now turned into common items. We've had this issue in the past years ago when we would give away premium items and allow them to be traded.
Over the years, we have worked really hard behind the scenes to try and improve the game's economy and keep things valuable as it's exceptionally important to keep the game afloat for more reasons than one. Therefore, when we do give out premium items in mass quantities for free or very easily obtainable, we will lock it as No Trade to protect the value of said item and the game's general economy.
This is a pretty common tactic in most games. It allows the game to give all players a chance to have some of the more premium items without having much of an impact on the game's global economy because the item is either limitedly used just for that player or tossed away unwanted.
