As the subject states. I just posted a rather large segment from a story and after hitting send and then checking the sent message after the fact, all of the ' and " marks were gone.
"Something a character said" lost the quotations and turned into Something a character said, he replied.
I had to go back and redo it all, after accidentally sending an identical copy of the broken message because I hit the wrong button. D:
I feel like I spammed this poor person and omg, my writing looks so DERPY!!! *cries in the corner of shame*
(Edit for clarity, it was copy/pasted info. But wow Imp's issue is even worse!)

Yeah~ mobile doesn't like ' and "~ I always lose mine too when I typed in mobile. TwT

Yea. There's an issue where mobile devices (I want to say specifically Apple mobile devices but it could be different by now) use a different version of ' and " than other operating systems. Our sanitation code does not recognize these new versions of ' and " so they get wiped.
I would imagine I can figure out a work around to it or update our text sanitation, I just haven't gotten around to it.

I believe this is an issue with 'smart' quotes, where some machines automatically convert 'straight' quotes to 'smart quotes'. However, some places can't handle the smart quotes, because they are different ascii characters.
Basically smart quotes are the curly ' and " where the leading quote is 'facing' left and the ending quote is facing right, etc...

You can turn off smart quotes on Iphone! If they're curly go to your settings, general, keyboard, and then turn off smart punctuation :)
Idk about other devices, though I'm sure google can help you there

Mine wasn't Iphone (I have Samsung/Android)
It was copied and pasted from Google Docs.

Google Docs might have 'smart quotes' automatically turned on. (I just looked up google docs, and not sure whether the yare automatically enabled, or you have to enable them, but they do have them)
What it does is that when you type ' or " it automatically changes it to a 'smart quote' which are the 'curly' quotes, and have different left and right quotation marks.
But, the forums and PMs can't handle those, so it seems like it erases them. Another site I play gives a 'null' in chat when smart quotes are copied from another source and pasted into chat. Causes no end of confusion with people who don't realize there is a difference. (especially when it can be hard to see the differences with some fonts/sizes)
