It's nice and bright, but somehow it seems like it's barely keeping the darkness away, like the shadows are some tangible matter. You look down and see the floor is littered with feathers. They're in every color, but they've lost their sheen and some are disintegrating.

When you say "Desolate," the Avia hops up and down energetically, bobbing its head.

She drops it and fumbles around in her bag, remembering that Elysse mentioned a guidebook. That had to have something useful in it, right?

It shakes its head furiously and jabs the stick at the dragon creatures.
After some thought, it draws an Avia then an arrow pointing towards one of the creatures.

As you pick up the feather, the barbs crumble to ash leaving you holding only the bare shaft.
You find the guidebook inside your backpack without too much trouble. You open it and find that it is completely blank.
Then words appear on the page as if by magic.
