You can't get a grip on anything, you can't even feel anything but air as you scrabble around. You think you hear tortured shrieks in the distance, but it might just be the wind. You've been falling for some time, long enough that it will... probably hurt a lot when you reach the bottom.
Then you finally hit the ground, but surprisingly there's little impact, almost as if you fell from a much lower distance. You still stumble and twist your ankle, but at least you aren't a pancake on the floor.

It hisses as it dissipates momentarily to let the arrow pass through harmlessly.

It scratches the same thing into the dirt, you can now tell that it's more a problem of it not knowing how to write than it being messy. The first letter might be a D or O, you're not sure.

You run into the other room without closing the ramp-hatch you came in through. You hear spine-chilling growls from outside but by the screeching and sliding noises, it's having trouble getting up the ramp. It probably won't be long until it gets inside, though.
