Honestly Sylvorpa are one of my least favorite sylestia and I think that won't be changing much with this update. The artwork itself is lovely, much better shading and overall it is an improvement. I think the adult male pose is so awkward, like he's trying to walk on his front legs or being sucked up by a giant vacuum; I really don't get this pose and I will most likely release all of my male Sylvorpa because of this. The female adult is fine, she's not too different from the current look and at least she's sitting..not floating away. The baby boy is adorable except for the angle of his feet, but I still would snuggle him. And the baby girl is cute but she looks like she's about to throw a tantrum, not sleeping relaxed. I'm not trying to be harsh or rude; just honest.

I don't mind the adult male pose (I do prefer the female more anyway). Makes him look less boring compared to the current in my opinion. Can't wait to see how this turns out, especially since my starter is of this species, and a pretty one at that.

Even though my starter was a sylvorpa, I never really liked them. But now I want lots of them :)

Good points all, especially about the head fronds/gills on the little male.
Overall I am hopeful for this redraw. I am especially hopeful that Dragonfly Wings will have an improved look, more like they belong on a creature that really can swim well.

The art is really quite good, the overall anatomy is appreciable (much trepidation to it, though, as our most precious and favourite of our Sylesti, our starter, is one)(really hoping the gillfronds are more clear in the final than they seem to be in these due to the markings, though)
Our thoughts on points that are bugging us about these otherwise lovely pieces are these:
1) The left forefoot of the female is kind of distracting because the outer/pinky? toe looks kind of like it's a thumb by it's position/angle in relation to the wrist, joint to the hand and other toes
2) Baby female's shape is... kind of weird? Maybe it's because the line of the belly through chest is not visible due to her hands, but she kind of looks like she's missing body length or something to us?
3) In agreement with some other people that the clapping hind feet of the male baby look odd. The toe shape in particular is causing a lot of the issue there, I feel.
4) Male baby's tail seems really thick compared to the others?
5) I JUST NOTICED THE BABY FEMALE'S HIND LEFT FOOT AND NOW I AM SCARED. The angle of the toes in relation to the leg possibly could use some work?
6) Okay, this one is REALLY bugging me. As they currently are, Sylvorpa's entire tailflipper seems to be made up of a fish-fin-like skin-and-strut system, so the line separating them from the rest of the tail somewhat makes sense. The new version, however, is going with thin skin spread between two thicker... tail tips? (as it's not an anatomical structure that I am aware of in real-life nature, I'm not sure I can put a name such a feature), the line that separates the main tail from the prongs that the fin is joined to(/suspended between?) doesn't make much sense? It should be a smooth continuation of skin. It's kind of like they're behind the tail because of it, rather than attached.
...
I'm not sure I explained that one very well, even though it is one of the ones bugging me most
Overall bodyshape, shoulders etcetera, especially on the female, however, are very nicely done

Re: 'Reflex to curl up fingers in a (human) baby': It's not a human, it's an amphibian here, lol. That instinct isn't there for them. Feel free to consult page 5 to see pictures of what they are based on. :)
So many people demanding they be even more mammalian! XD
