the rays of sunlight filtered through the leafs of the canopy, causing it to dance on Sonic and Tails' fur. Sonic looked up at Tails, who was starring at something on his watch. "what ya' looking at there?" sonic asked. Tails' ears pricked up, and then he walked over to sonic. "it's not working anymore," tails said, taking off the watch. sure enough, the second hand wasn't ticking. Sonic looked at his own watch. it wasn't working either. ''strange,'' sonic muttered. "something's causing an energy spike,'' Tails said, his tails waving excitedly. Sonic looked at the fox expectantly "and that means....?", Tails sighed and said "isn't it obvious? there's a chaos emerald somewhere on this island! (sonic twitched an ear) That's probably why Knuckles is taking so long, he probably sensed it long before we figured it out,"

Knuckles looks at Eclipse, and takes note that her eyes have a mischievous gleam to them. better watch my step..... he thought. He followed her eyes into the bushes, and sees a feint red glow. thats gotta be a chaos emerald. expecting a trick, he looked at Eclipse. "After you...." he said quietly.

"you really think so Tails?" sonic inquired. "I'm almost positive,'' tails said nodding. Sonic looked in the direction Knuckles ran off to. "i just hope this isn't some kind of trap...." sonic said, getting up, "i don't want to have to bail him out of trouble again," He added, smiling.

Eclipse chirps and coos. Rex and Lily push the chaos emerald from were she had them kinda hide it. She can't touch it afterall. It would hurt alot. Lily picks it up and flys over to knuckles to give it to him.

Knuckles was familiar with the Chao race, but these two had to be the strangest variety he's ever seen. Well, besides Chaos, that is. What kind of stuff are they being exposed to these days? he thought. The island has an abundance of clean water so that couldn't be the issue. when he picked up the chaos emerald he looked at the two chao. "Thanks," he said, shaking their hands. he looked at Eclipse and nodded. "Follow me," he said calmly. Suddenly red light flooded his vision. "ARUGH! NOT AGAIN!" he shouted, clutching his forehead.

Sonic heard the shout. "he found it...." he commented. Tails looked at the hedgehog, confused. "how can you tell?" Sonic closed his eyes and said simply, "Chaos vision. Knuckles gets them whenever he touches a chaos emerald for the first time after finding it. Happened to me once, you know. Weird experience. He'll be fine in a minute or so,"

What he saw was catastrophic. A forest was going up in flames in front of him. he made to run, but then remembered he wasn't actually here. Chaos vision again, Knuckles thought. It looked bad, to be sure, but this is how forests revive themselves, right? Well, not rainforests, obviously. Only time he'd seen a rainforest on fire was that one time when he first laid eyes on Sonic. But he could help but think..... he watched the movement of the fire. It was almost fluid, almost... like water. Water and fire, the death of a tribe. Knuckles looked at the ground as a pang of guilt, or maybe sorrow, or perhaps both, rushed through him. Then he looked back at the flames. Suck it up! It's not your fault. You weren't even alive when that happened, he told himself, trying not to think about the other "incidents" that he had seen or been a part of.

Red yelps as knuckles crys out. she touches him to see whats wrong. Nothing....maybe oh yeah Chaos and tikal said something that was similar to this. What was it called oh yeah chaos vision! The master emerald showed her something about a race similar to knuckles echindas? Yeah she felt bad for them but they did attack tikal the chao and the master emerald. chaos only attacked to defend. He did go to far though...Reminds her of when she lost it. oh well thats a story for another day. Eclipse looks down at the blue crystal Thats attatched to her coller. It held Chaos in it. The master emerald and tikal gave it to her as She can calm down Chaos and chaos can calm her as well. and they both were best friends and children. her race mentally matures diffrently then others and she did spend 30 years in a black empty void then 12 years on a rampage in a blind feral rage caused by the last 30 years and a evil guy just using her power and hurting her. And then about 50 in a deep sleep trying to regain energy. so yeah.

Horrible life so far. Chaos can see hears touch and tadte the world through her. and both tikal and the master emerald wants both Chaos and her to go explore. and there ages well Eclipse in her species years is 10 so is Chaos as he has little to no experience with the world just like her. They can also talk to each other in their minds.

Knuckles' vision cleared. He held still a bit, trying to regulate his breathing. He glanced at Eclipse. "S-Sorry 'bout that, " he said, picking up the chaos emerald. "C'mon," he said, starting to walk northwest.

Eclipse smiles and barks to her chao to follow. She then starts following knuckles with Rex and lily right beside her.

Knuckles continued in silence, but that was to be expected when he traveled. he usually wouldn't speak until spoken to. He looked behind him to make sure the three were still following. all present and accounted for. he nodded in satisfaction, and turned his attention to the rain forest ahead.

Sonic was at his point bored out of his mind. Tails noticed this, "you know, Knuckles has only been gone for about 15 minutes,'' Tails pointed out. Sonic looked up at him. "my limit is 30 seconds....'' Tails shook his head, a huge smile on his face. "you'll survive. If you seriously can't hold still another second-'' he didn't have to say anymore, the hedgehog was gone like that, with nothing more then a fast "thanks!". ''he'll be back in a few minutes, once he does 15 laps around the island,'' Tails said to himself, laughing a bit.

"just what i needed,'' sonic sighed, folding his arms behind his head. tails looked up at him. two minutes had passed.
"how many times?" He asked
"eight," Sonic replied in a carefree tone.
"30 seconds better then last time,"
"Yeah...." sonic trailed off, looking southeast. he turned back to tails. ''And....... cue echidna," he said, pointing a finger. and sure enough, knuckles emerged into the clearing, though he kept his eyes fixed. Sonic made to say something, but knuckles held up an hand. "Save it," he growled, grabbing Sonic by the wrist and putting something into his hand. "Safer with you,'' he mumbled before continuing on. Sonic and Tails just stared after him, dumbfounded but not surprised. then sonic looked down at his hand. The red chaos emerald was sitting right in his palm. How..........? He looked to his side. The fox thing was there with two Chao. "On Knuckles behalf, sorry," He said. "What got into him?" Tails asked. The hedgehog just shrugged.

Eclipse just shrugs she dosen't mind his grumpyness. She jumps up on the two tailed fox he is older then her. She is only a bit smaller then the two tailed fox in her true form. Eclipse grins as chaos says he likes the fox too. He is scared of the blue hedgehog though. Which is understandable as tikal Explained how he beat chaos. Eclipse wants to leave the island to explore her child couriosity survived all the hurt and screams at to explore. One thing though she has to learn or relearn all her forms again. and since theres only ocean below this floating island she uh sucks at swimming without her water creature form...shes been stuck here.
