Guards watch as Zeke sprints past the village after the king's party. They look at each other before one of them mind-links the king, warning him of the fast-approaching boy.

The guards growl loudly at him, Caspian's second command grabbing Zeke by the collar of his shirt and yanking him away from the king. "Stay away from the king. You may follow us but do not walk alongside him as if you are his equal." The guard sneers, the guards glaring down at him.

Zeke rolled his eyes, pried off the gaurd finger by finger, and backed up to a respectable distance, but not so far so it was creepy. *better?*

The second in command nodded before looking up and snapping his fingers. Suddenly birds were flying overhead silently, seeming to circle the king protectively before flying ahead. The royal birds were known to be cruel and merciless when fighting, they had only ever been seen by the royal guards and the king himself.

Suddenly one dives down and lands on Caspian's shoulder.
Caspian smiles up at the bird, taking the small letter attached to its ankle before watching it fly off with the others. The second in command tenses, watching his king's reaction as he reads the letter. Caspian curls it up before tossing it over his shoulder, the second in command catching it with ease and reading it. "We will be on time boys." The second in command mutters. Caspian continues riding at a sprinting pace, the others following suit.
