It's been quite a while since we've done one of these! But we are finally able to share the completion of the first step of the Bulbori Revamp!

Please Keep in Mind
1. These are SKETCHES! These are NOT the final line art. These are not shaded. These are not fine-tuned. These are just simply sketches to showcase the basic design and features of the new bases. This means that the lines that you see are rough, incomplete, and not a true 100% representation of what the final line art will look like as we will absolutely fine tune, make adjustments, extensions, etc. for the final line art.
2. When providing feedback, please be constructive! DO NOT just post that you simply don't like something. If you don't like something, please explain to us why and how we can improve it.
3.Please be respectful to your fellow players and the Admin team. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It is okay if you do not agree with someone else's opinion, but please be respectful about it.

I somehow don't really like the expression on the face of an adult male.

Honestly, I do not love the adult male. I feel like his posing looks sort of awkward? But at the same time, I'm not sure how much you could realistically do with a male bunny. Maybe his pose would look better if it was more dynamic, like the baby male?
But again, I'm not really sure! >>
Very excited that the revamp is finally getting started, though! <3 And the babies are looking SO freaking cute!! <3

The babies and adult female look so cute and amazing !
the adult males body looks good but his face seems a little awkward
nothing wrong with the general shape but the features feel a little bit squashed

Honestly they don't look much different from the ones we have now. I thought they would be alot different from the way they are now.

We are intentionally keeping them as similar to the originals as possible. The goal of this revamp isn't to redesign them or change their core concepts. The main goals of this revamp are to:
1. Modernize the artwork to be on par with our other more recent artwork in terms of line art detail, shading, etc.
2. Update the backend layering so that we can easily implement more complicated traits that will still flow correctly.
3. Make more use of their gems and mane fluff by splicing them out from the bases so that they can be interchangeable with new mutations. This is also why we moved the Adult Female's floating gems. You can hardly even see her gem in the original design.
4. Fix any weird, minor anatomy issues that the original bases have.

Following up with what Jenrette said about the male bulbori pose, I think it's that the fluff muddles the neck, which muddles the pose. You can't tell what the neck is doing, if it's leaning forward or if it's meant to be straight, but if you can make the shoulders-neck-head through line more clear it might help. Currently it looks like it's in an awkward place between standing straight with a short neck, and leaning it's head forward like it's meant to be leaning in, but with a straight back.
Getting the body language clearer will probably help fix this issue!
Since you mentioned you wanted to keep it as close as possible to the original I'd suggest raising and moving the head back a bit to make the male look more like it's standing tall and proud, but ultimately it's up to y'all.

-happy tap dancing- oh these look amazing! Once these are done I might finally actually finish my breeding projects. While the old art is not bad, these look magnitudes better. A credit to improved skills.<3
that being said i have to agree something feels slightly off but only slightly!
i can't visualize it myself, unfortunately my brain doesn't work that way but:
female: I believe the female's head should be turned towards us just slightly, to me it looks like she's overextending the turn of her head. I never noticed in the old art because i simply wasn't paying attention. otherwise to me she looks perfect!
male:
-unless its on purpose it appears the male's head is smaller than the female? I see this as well on the old art but the definition makes it more obvious here.
-i'm also wondering if slightly shortening the front arms or widening them might be something to consider? because of the male's pose it makes his arms seem more..er.. "leggy" for lack of a better term. you can also see them being wider on the old art.
i will admit that i'm both surprised and not surprised to not see as much changed as other breeds but i mean. there wasn't much to change was there? It's mostly updating art and making them look as fancy as everyone else now is. i'm adoring the addition of extra crystals and more fluff though! i'm doing happy tap dancing imagining the foxtail and chipmunk on this new art! the gradients!

I think the sketches are looking great!
Loving the way the floating gems over the head are looking and that the males have a fluffier tail now. And that the females still look super sweet <3
My only critique is with the males, not sure if it's the expression (maybe the eyebrows) or something but they give off the look that they are very tense but not in an excited way, more of an unhappy way. I like the thought of them getting ready to jump or looking sassy. But they currently give off more of an angry or upset vibe for me. But I still love them more than the originals design, and am excited to see both with shading and more details!
