She waited, tensing and starting to cry again. She knew she'd be hurt for them thinking she'd vanished at some point, although it wasn't her fault. She kept true to her logic though.

The new person (Scoutwolf) goes off to ask the supervisor something and comes back a moment later, apparently having joined your team.

Evan trotted over there. "When's it going to start?" he whispered, getting a queasy feeling in his gut. Aka nerves. Maybe he shouldn't have left the place. Maybe rescued a few more unfortunate people that were like him....
