You don't see anything. In fact, the entire forest has become suddenly still.
Then the entire world... flickers. It's like you're seeing this spot somehow changed.
The clearing you're standing in is charred and blackened, covered in rubble. Half of the trees are now gone, the rest are smoldering and burned to toothpicks. The smell of smoke hangs in the air, and the sky is the color of ash. Something crunches beneath your foot and you look down to see a bone. You realize that bones are littered everywhere, turned almost black by soot and who knows what else.
Then you blink and everything is back to normal.

There aren't exactly any caves, but you could try going back into the relative shelter of the forest.

You're not sure, so you hold it in front of your face in an attempt to see it. As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you see that it looks more like a flute sort of thing.

Extremely alarmed, I quickly pull out the guidebook, making sure not to knock the Avia off my arm by accident, and ask, "Do you have any idea what that was?"

You blow into what you're assuming is the blowing end. You cover some holes randomly, expecting it to sound like a mess, but you're surprised when you're rewarded with a beautiful melody.

You reach the edge of the cliff, which goes straight down into a strangely placid ocean. There's no beach as far as you can see.
