In response, Elysse ties a blindfold around your head, spins you around a couple of times, and leads you in a maze of twists and turns that you couldn't remember if you tries. Finally, you come to a stop, and she puts something that feels like a ring in your hand.
"This ring will take you out of the world if you spin it three times around your finger, but I advise you not to use it except in extreme emergencies." she explains. "Please wait a few seconds before moving once I remove the blindfold to ensure stability. Remember the rules, and happy exploring!"
She whips off your blindfold, but you don't see her standing where her voice was coming from. Instead, you're standing all alone in a lush forest, with trees bearing fruit you don't recognize all around you and melodious birdsong coming from overhead.

"Excellent! Now please keep in mind that you're here early we aren't properly finished setting up our facilities yet, so you may want to check back occasionally to see if we've made any important changes! Now before we get started, we do have a few rules to ensure that your exploration is safe."

"I'm afraid that our exploration is full at the moment and you will have to go onto the Waiting Lizt for some time, at least until a spot opens in whatever way. However, you are free to wander around the premises until your turn comes, provided that you obey a few rules. We also have lovely hotel suites for those currently waiting on the Lizt, which I can show you to when you are ready, and I will let you know when it is your time for exploration."

There's no table of contents, and the page is blank. Then writing starts to appear, beginning on the left page instead of the right as most books usually do.

This is an Avia.
It pauses for a moment, and then a detailed, uncolored drawing of a bird similar to a quetzal appears on the page.
Not much is known about these creatures, as they are quite enigmatic, but there is some information that has been uncovered in past years.
Would you like to know more about the Avia, Mossflight?

The forest is alive with regular sounds you'd expect to be in a forest, minus the birdsong. You spot several plants you don't recognize, and a couple of times you hear rustling in the bushes.
