oh okay, thank you. When I heard that before, I thought "third zone" was referring to astryl's vale itself

Edited original post with some information regarding the new rarity system (this applies ONLY to Astryl's Vale).

New Rarity and Trap system
In order to have a more dynamic spawn system for random battles, we are in the process of completely recoding how Sylesti rarities and how Traps work. Currently, the rarity part of the system is now live. The Trap portion will be coming soon.

In each zone, we set each species to their own spawn chance. This ranges from common to very rare (or not at all). An example would be that in Sweet Blossom Orchard, a Qitari is set to rare. However, if you were in Esior's Fields, a Qitari would probably be common.

Once a species has been chosen, the code then chooses the amount of genopoints it has. This ranges from 0 all the way to 8. Once it knows the genopoints, it then randomly assigns them as carried or visible. This means that a wild sylesti with 4 genotype points could be a double visible, quad carry, or 1 vis 2 carry.

For now, the color of the stars indicate the amount of genopoints. This will be removed when we revamp the Trap system!

In order to address a few problems we are concerned with and the changes to the rarity system, we are changing how Traps work. Traps will become level based instead of rarity based. In Esior's Haven, you will be able to buy varying Level 25 Traps. These work on Sylesties level 25 and under. The goal here is to provide an adequate gold sink throughout all regions. Additionally, there will be some type of trap resistance attached to each pet based on its genopoints. Beyond this point hasn't been figured out yet, so I can't really give anymore details.

@Krinadon,
But we can capture the new species there now?

Does this mean that uncommon pets will only have one genotype point assigned to them now, instead of 2 for possible Vis markings?

Yes, both are able to be captured. I've even seen someone already with a Nephini.

I'm so confused. I caught a rare adult moth when I was on the quest in the orchard, and I read the url, and according to that it just has one carried trait. Is the url not a reliable method as I had thought?

For now, yes. But in the near future there will be no such thing as uncommon pets. It'll just be a wild sylesti with 1 genotype point.

You cannot use image URLs to see what traits pets have. I mask hidden information from the link. Otherwise, there would be no point to Genetic Test Kits or Scanners.

@Vaxl,

I would require more information on the pet you're referring to in order to give a better explanation.
