Examining the map, you see a few distinct areas. On the edge farthest away from an illustration of a town, which must be where you are, is a drawing of a castle. To get to it, you'll have to go South through a desert, down a river, and over some mountains. To the West is the dense forest, to the East is a meadow which turns into a marsh before leading to the sea, to the North is a cluster of mountains surrounding a lake. Looking out the window confirms your suspicions as to your current location; a town on the edge of a forest.

As you search, you don't see anything else that looks familiar, but you do see a necklace just beneath the bed.
