I noticed that bullies exist in every grade level so that's why it didn't really do much. Having been bullied much of my life it was largely by people in the same grade/age group that did it...

That you know of, trust me some bullies know how to keep their actions hidden from the public eye...that and many have made the move to bulling people online.
About half of my bullies, people didn't believe that they bullied me because they where "good kids" that would never do something like that.
But, sense I was in school several years ago now...many schools have cracked down on bullies and made/changed their policies so maybe that's why your school doesn't have the overly bulling trouble that my school did.

Yep, and it's just as bad as being bullied in person, some times it's even worse.

They can hurt a lot...having been on the receiving end of them for years I know...I was bullied even in College so...yeah they hurt...it's a big victory personally though when you can be the bigger person and remove yourself from the situation.
